AdCenter - Microsoft's search and content advertising network
Adsense - Google's revenue for publishers content network adverts
Adwords - Google's search and content advertising network.
AM - Affiliate Marketing
Anchor Text - Hyperlinked text, leading to another page or site
Backlink - A link from a third party website
CPA - Cost per Acquisition (Cost to gain each new customer from a particular marketing campaign)
CPA - Cost per Action (Affiliate commission as % of transaction value or fixed amount)
CPC - Cost per Click
CPM - Cost per Mille (1000 Ad Exposures)
EPC - Earnings per Click
EPM - Earnings per Mille (1000 Exposures)
Keyphrase - The phrase that is being targeted or searched for, eg: "weight loss exercises"
Keyword - The word that is being targeted or searched for, eg: exercise
"nofollow" - A tag introduced by Google to declare to its bots that PR and indexing are not to be be passed. Intended to combat text link sales based on PR benefit
Organic Results - The non-sponsored results shown by a search engine in response to an inputted search string
Overture - Yahoo's search and content advertising network
PPC - Pay per Click (where an advertiser pays by the click through on their advert and not by the number of times it is shown)
PPM - Pay per Mille (where an advertiser pays by the thousand exposures)
PR - Page Rank (a figure between 1-10 used by Google to suggest a level of a site's / page's importance and quality of links back to it)
RPM - Revenue per Mille (1000 Exposures)
SEM - Search Engine Marketing (purchase of advertising running alongside search results - Adwords, Overture and AdCenter for Google, Yahoo and MSN correspondingly)
SEO - Search Engine Optimisation / Optimization. The combination of methods used to aim for the best possible organic results in the search engines.

Text Link - A link to a website by hyperlinked text (as opposed to a graphical banner advert)
